Haven’t You Heard? “Times Have Changed.”

Ever wonder why simple black and white things are so complicated now?  I do.

Sometimes I ask myself why.  Sometimes I ask others just to get their take.  The most common answer I get is times have changed.

You need ID at the ballgame to get a beer even if you have white hair and a cane, but not to vote?  Times have changed.

Pedophiles get probation now?  Times have changed.

If you experiment with narcotics and become addicted to the point of stealing you are sick rather than a criminal?  Times have changed.

If I openly smoke marijuana on the street people will be afraid to confront me but I can’t smoke tobacco in a bar?  Times have changed.

As a man I have to support an unexpected child and likely the mother’s frivolous lifestyle but have no say if she decides to murder the child?  Times have changed.

The top 3 applicants were all men but a female got the job?  Times have changed.

Women are strong, empowered and independent but I am constantly asked at work to change the water jug and move heavy tables Times have changed.

A woman can get drunk with me, willingly fornicate with me, then regret it and charge me with rape?  Times have changed.

Women want to display pictures of their cleavage in sexual poses but still be treated like a lady?  Times have changed.

You can’t tie a dog to a tree but you can murder your own baby on demand at any point in the gestation process?  Times have changed.

She tells me she’s going out for martinis with the girls at some pickup joint but I have to ask permission to go to the ballgame Times have changed.

Children are incapable of going to the playground and having a pickup game independent of adult supervision but can choose their gender Times have changed.

Children now play 5 youth sports (I do support youth sports BTW) games in 3 days at the expense of ANY other family activity and God’s Commandment to Keep Holy The Sabbath?  Times have changed.

Children now have more homework than ever but we rank lower as a nation in academic proficiency?  Times have changed.

You can get a high school diploma without knowing English?  Times have changed.

You can fail most of your classes and still graduate?  Times have changed.

School nurses can hand out condoms (optional for students) but coaches can’t hold a moment of silent prayer before the game (also optional for students) Times have changed.

Halloween is taken more seriously than Good Friday?  Times have changed.

People want their privacy respected but display their lives, even the food they eat on Instaface?  Times have changed.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of hate (understandable) but the hammer and sickle is progressively fashionable?  Times have changed.

My job is holding a “holiday party” but can’t tell me which holiday?  Times have changed.

Pro athletes are bigger, stronger, faster and better paid than ever but act like ass***es, refuse to hustle and get hurt more than ever?  Times have changed.

So there you have it, times have changed.  It reminds me of a scene in Rocky Balboa (the 6th installment of the franchise).

In that scene, Rocky is contemplating a George Foreman-like comeback far past his prime.  His 20-something son thinks he’s crazy, doesn’t want him to do it and rationalizes “it’s a different world now.”

Rocky responds in typical fashion, “only the clothes is different.”  This is a big part of the character’s timeless appeal.

He’s basically a punch drunk dumb-dumb, but he has an honest, child-like ability to see the world in it’s simplest terms.  That’s why most of those movies have an applicable lesson that draws us in.

In a nutshell, times don’t change.  The sky is always either blue or gray.  The seasons run their course.  The grass grows.  The sun rises and sets.

You get the picture.  This always happened and always will as long as God decides to let it.

So what changed if it wasn’t the times?  People changed!

And not our human nature.  We have had the same flaws and temptations and adversity since Adam ate the apple from Eve.

What changed is our priorities and what we find acceptable; what we swallow as a society.  Do we treat each other better or worse?  Is the family unit stronger or shakier?

Are women happier or angrier with their empowerment and independence?  Is there more or less upside to a man approaching a woman, treating her well, marrying her and having children with her?

Are children smarter, braver and better adjusted today or dumber, lazier and more fearful and dependent?

I know what I think.  How about you?

PS:  You may have heard that pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested.  Any reporter or outlet (including Fox News and all conservative media) that discusses this case without crediting Mike Cernovich with being the first to sue to get the records of Epstein’s past slap-on-the-wrist conviction records unsealed is reporting fake news.

MSM finds Cernovich threatening.  That’s why they ignore him when they are not labeling him in a disparaging manor.  If you want to see why they are threatened by him see his documentary on fake news, Hoaxed.
