WE are Building the Wall!!!

Construction is nearly complete in New Mexico on a section of border wall built with private funds raised by a nonprofit called We Build The Wall.

We are building the wall.  Need proof?  Check out the above photo of brand new border wall built at the southern border.

Yes WE the people, not President Trump or any other part of the government have finally broken ground on new wall.

I’m going to throw some of you lefties and neocon Never-Trumpers a bone.  Ready?  President Donald J. Trump has lied often!

No, not about colluding with Putin or other Russian boogie men.  But Trump is not immune to lying in other areas.

Huh…huh…how can you say that?  Well Sally, have you noticed when you watch those exciting rallies the President is so good at that he talks about “finishing the wall?”

Nonsense!  While some existing dilapidated barriers may have been restored, there has been no evidence of any new miles of border wall outside that funded and built privately.

We…we…well, the media hates him and doesn’t want to show his accomplishments.  That is largely true, but do you mean to tell me that kiss-ass Sean Hannity would not have at some point done his show at the border with bulldozers and hard hats moving about in the background if new ground had been broken by this administration?

Sorry to break it to you blind followers, but the fact is the President has folded at the border every time.  And my purpose here is not to campaign against Donald Trump.  He has done several good things.

The economy is good, jobs are up (most importantly manufacturing jobs); we are not getting smacked around in trade deals anymore.  He has kept us out of meaningless wars while crippling ISIS.

But what was the main thing that put him over?  What made some centrist Democrats vote for him?

What made the union laborer or tradesman who normally takes his voting orders from his corrupt delegate think for himself this time?  What made the guy who never cared as he rightfully, even if uninformed said they were all the same actually register and vote because Trump spoke to him on his level?

They all realized that as Michael Savage has been saying for 2 decades that our borders, language and culture are under attack by the elites who want to replace us with cheap foreign labor and people who were raised to be reliant on and afraid of tyrannical governments.

Now, I still support the President and plan to vote for him again.  He is one of the few threads America and western civilization are barely hanging on by.  But supporting someone without criticism is not support.

We used to get annoyed with the Obamalings who refused to criticize their demigod.  I refuse to be like them.

Now maybe after this Supreme Court ruling that the President can use military funds for the construction of a border wall, we will see some action.  I hope and think we will.

But he likely had the executive power to do this already.  The problem is, he surrounded himself with the swamp he promised to drain.

Rather than surrounding himself with MAGA people, he allowed his staff to be largely constructed of GOP establishment who still hate him for embarrassing their own in the 2016 primary.  Oh, and throw in a liberal power couple from New York (Javanka).

People friendly to the MAGA base like General Flynn, Steve Bannon and Anthony Scaramucci were sacrificed.

The President himself proved that private citizens get far more done than government.  Go back and research how he embarrassed New York Mayor Ed Koch by building an ice rink faster than expected and under budget when the Mayor couldn’t.

Bottom line:  if you believe in the wall and want progress made quickly, put your money where your mouth is (if you can spare it of course).  You can click this link to donate.

No amount is too small.  Talk soon.

PS:  If you have any information proving that Trump’s administration has built any NEW wall or barrier that did not already exist, please leave a comment or notify me on Twitter.  I WANT to be wrong about what I said above!

Thurman-Pacquiao Recap

Courtesy of gulfnews.com

I was glad to be wrong in my prediction of this past Saturday night’s welterweight title bout between Keith Thurman and Manny Pacquiao.  Pacquiao looked sharp and explosive dropping the champ in the first round in route to a convincing victory.

Last week I compared the fight to the Iran Barkley-Roberto Duran classic in 1989 when a 37 year old, supposedly over-the-hill Duran upset the prime Barkley taking his middleweight title.  The difference though, was Barkley-Duran was a back-and-forth battle of attrition; this was fairly one-sided even if the Vegas judges turned in a split decision.

I had it 117-110 for the Filipino.  That’s 9 rounds to 3 with a point deduction from Thurman for the knockdown.  MAYBE you could give Thurman 4 rounds; he did have his moments.

But Glenn Feldman either has cataracts or is crooked scoring it 114-113 for Thurman.  Even Dave Moretti and Tim Cheatham’s scores of 115-112 were too close for my liking; no way Thurman won 5 rounds.

Poor judging seems to be a factor in nearly every big fight these days, especially in Las Vegas.  But at least the right guy got his hand raised this time.

What now for Thurman?

Where Keith Thurman goes from here is up to him, but he should be honest with himself.  It never helps a career to loose to a 40 year old but he handled himself with class and accountability, and he never quit in the fight.

He’s only 30 and can still write his own script.  He can learn from this and fight on as long as the fire is there, but is it?

Only he knows but I am not sure it is.  He has enough talent to stay a factor in the division, but he is also extremely knowledgeable and engaging in the broadcast seat.  So he doesn’t have to fight.

What now for Pacquiao?

The new WBA champ can ride off into the sunset, but he won’t.  The logical next step is a unification showdown with the winner of the upcoming battle between IBF champ Eroll Spence Jr. and WBC strap holder Shawn Porter.

Spence is a heavy favorite in that fight and would be a stylistic nightmare for Pac Man at any age with his size and technical ability.  Porter would be a winnable, but hellacious match-up for the 40 year old.

What Team Pacquiao really wants is a rematch with the retired undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr.  I may be forced to surrender my membership card for the hardcore boxing fan club for saying this, but that’s the fight I want to see.

I want to see what this version of Pacquiao (re-motivated, not over-trained and with both shoulders fully intact) does against the defensive wizard.  The question is, does Mayweather (who watched Saturday from ringside) want it?

The money wouldn’t be as big as the 2015 dud, but it would still be the most lucrative fight in boxing.  The thing is, Floyd is interested mostly in big paydays today that come with sure victories.

His legs looked shot while he carried Connor McGreggor in that circus he calls his last fight.  Does he take this money and get back in the gym, or is he satisfied with his fortune and record?

I bet the latter.  I am not one of these guys who calls Floyd a coward.  He fought everybody.

However, he was always sure/smart enough to get guys at the right time.  He did not seem super interested in exchanging blows with Pacquiao until the Senator started showing signs of deterioration and a lack of killer instinct.

My bet is that Floyd doesn’t have the desire to shake off the 2 year ring rust, really 3 when you account for the fact that his last fight was not with a boxer.  I believe Pac Man ends up in there with Spence.

The legend should enjoy this win which moves him up the all-time ladder.  But Father Time is coming with the check.  Talk soon.

PS:  I read this article today in the NY Post.  I don’t have children, but if my son was not a true academic type, college is the last direction in which I would point him.

As I see with friends of mine who make far more than I do, a college degree is not a necessity for financial success.  It’s actually a slave contract of sure debt.

More importantly, the Duke Lacrosse and UVA rape hoaxes are just the tip of the iceberg in how these Marxist campgrounds called campuses are waging war on masculinity.

Pacquiao’s Duran Moment

Courtesy of boxingscene.com

On Saturday night the hall-of-fame bound Manny Pacquiao enters the ring at age 40 for the 72nd time in his career with WBA Welterweight Champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (29-0, 22KO, 1 no contest).

The matchup reminds me of the Iran Barkley-Roberto Duran middleweight classic that I wrote about in The Last Great Night of a Legend.  You have the faded legend against a guy in his prime who is a really good fighter but maybe not quite on the level of some past Pacquiao opponents and may be vulnerable if the right Pac Man shows up.

Keys to Victory for Pacquiao

Basically be textbook Manny Pacquiao but with a high work rate.  In the last 4 years Pacquiao looked very good against Tim Bradley, Lucas Matthysse and Adrien Broner.  He looked much more his age in a victory over Jesse Vargas and losses to Floyd Mayweather (possibly due in part to a shoulder that required surgery) and Jeff Horn (terrible decision).  The difference was Pacquiao’s commitment to his attack.

In the fights he looked good, he was always busy with both his hands and his legs.  In the ones he looked nearly shot he was predictable and hesitant in his attacks; too many faints and not enough combinations.

And he must finish his combos with the right, hopefully the right hook which can catch Thurman moving away from his left.  After that get out of the pocket before attacking again.

Keys to Victory for Thurman

Courtesy of Sky Sports

For the younger champ, one of the keys to victory is to be active with the jab.  Thurman should use his length to make it difficult for Pacquiao to come with his in-and-out flurries.

He needs to be able to punch on the move a bit, which he has shown he is capable of doing.  Thurman should keep pumping that jab while moving to his left whenever possible.

This will keep his front foot outside the southpaw’s front foot and away from Manny’s left.  The Filipino has pop in both hands but Thurman should force him to win with the right, not the left.

Most important for Thurman:  time Pacquiao jumping in with the southpaw Kryptonite.  That’s the straight right hand; the same weapon Juan Manuel Marquez gave Manny fits with over 4 fights and once gave him a nice 5 minute siesta.  Mayweather was also very effective with the straight right.

Prediction

So who wins?  Pacquiao started as a live betting underdog.  He was so live that the money has shifted Pacquiao into the favorite making Thurman the live dog.

So, if you are betting go with the underdog at the time you place it as either guy can win this fight.

I told you how this fight had similarities to Barkley-Duran.  But the combatants also have some stark differences.

Pacquiao is like Roberto Duran in 1989 in his age and championship experience.  But while he may have more explosiveness than Duran, he is not nearly as fundamentally sound.

Pac Man jumps in on his attacks.  There are times he is punching with one or no feet on the floor for a split second.

You would never in a million years teach a guy to fight like Manny Pacquiao.  However, he is a special athlete who’s explosiveness usually masks and compensates for his fundamental transgressions.

Courtesy of theboxingtribune.com

Thurman on the other hand, while being a champion in his prime is not Iran Barkley.  Thurman is a smart engaging guy who was just on the cusp of stardom coming off victories over Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia on network television before an injury, and maybe some complacency in the broadcast seat kept him inactive for 2 years.

Barkley was born to fight, and fight he did.  The Blade did nothing but fight!

Thurman’s layoff made him barely get through a game Josesito Lopez in his last fight.  Was that ring rust or has some of the fire gone out?

I will be rooting for Pacquiao to tame the younger lion.  When the fight was signed I thought he would.

Thurman looked bad against Lopez and Pac Man looked very good against Adrien Broner in his last contest.  But Broner is notorious for fighting below his hype in big fights while Lopez has always risen above his talent level.

I am assuming a better Thurman will show up in Vegas.  My gut feeling has changed.

Yes, Pacquiao is still extremely explosive for 40 but he is still about 3 ticks slower than he once was.

Those ticks allow Thurman just enough time to nail the legend coming in with that all-important straight right.

And One Time, that right will end Pacquiao’s night.  Talk soon.

Haven’t You Heard? “Times Have Changed.”

Ever wonder why simple black and white things are so complicated now?  I do.

Sometimes I ask myself why.  Sometimes I ask others just to get their take.  The most common answer I get is times have changed.

You need ID at the ballgame to get a beer even if you have white hair and a cane, but not to vote?  Times have changed.

Pedophiles get probation now?  Times have changed.

If you experiment with narcotics and become addicted to the point of stealing you are sick rather than a criminal?  Times have changed.

If I openly smoke marijuana on the street people will be afraid to confront me but I can’t smoke tobacco in a bar?  Times have changed.

As a man I have to support an unexpected child and likely the mother’s frivolous lifestyle but have no say if she decides to murder the child?  Times have changed.

The top 3 applicants were all men but a female got the job?  Times have changed.

Women are strong, empowered and independent but I am constantly asked at work to change the water jug and move heavy tables Times have changed.

A woman can get drunk with me, willingly fornicate with me, then regret it and charge me with rape?  Times have changed.

Women want to display pictures of their cleavage in sexual poses but still be treated like a lady?  Times have changed.

You can’t tie a dog to a tree but you can murder your own baby on demand at any point in the gestation process?  Times have changed.

She tells me she’s going out for martinis with the girls at some pickup joint but I have to ask permission to go to the ballgame Times have changed.

Children are incapable of going to the playground and having a pickup game independent of adult supervision but can choose their gender Times have changed.

Children now play 5 youth sports (I do support youth sports BTW) games in 3 days at the expense of ANY other family activity and God’s Commandment to Keep Holy The Sabbath?  Times have changed.

Children now have more homework than ever but we rank lower as a nation in academic proficiency?  Times have changed.

You can get a high school diploma without knowing English?  Times have changed.

You can fail most of your classes and still graduate?  Times have changed.

School nurses can hand out condoms (optional for students) but coaches can’t hold a moment of silent prayer before the game (also optional for students) Times have changed.

Halloween is taken more seriously than Good Friday?  Times have changed.

People want their privacy respected but display their lives, even the food they eat on Instaface?  Times have changed.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of hate (understandable) but the hammer and sickle is progressively fashionable?  Times have changed.

My job is holding a “holiday party” but can’t tell me which holiday?  Times have changed.

Pro athletes are bigger, stronger, faster and better paid than ever but act like ass***es, refuse to hustle and get hurt more than ever?  Times have changed.

So there you have it, times have changed.  It reminds me of a scene in Rocky Balboa (the 6th installment of the franchise).

In that scene, Rocky is contemplating a George Foreman-like comeback far past his prime.  His 20-something son thinks he’s crazy, doesn’t want him to do it and rationalizes “it’s a different world now.”

Rocky responds in typical fashion, “only the clothes is different.”  This is a big part of the character’s timeless appeal.

He’s basically a punch drunk dumb-dumb, but he has an honest, child-like ability to see the world in it’s simplest terms.  That’s why most of those movies have an applicable lesson that draws us in.

In a nutshell, times don’t change.  The sky is always either blue or gray.  The seasons run their course.  The grass grows.  The sun rises and sets.

You get the picture.  This always happened and always will as long as God decides to let it.

So what changed if it wasn’t the times?  People changed!

And not our human nature.  We have had the same flaws and temptations and adversity since Adam ate the apple from Eve.

What changed is our priorities and what we find acceptable; what we swallow as a society.  Do we treat each other better or worse?  Is the family unit stronger or shakier?

Are women happier or angrier with their empowerment and independence?  Is there more or less upside to a man approaching a woman, treating her well, marrying her and having children with her?

Are children smarter, braver and better adjusted today or dumber, lazier and more fearful and dependent?

I know what I think.  How about you?

Leave a comment.  Talk soon.

PS:  You may have heard that pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested.  Any reporter or outlet (including Fox News and all conservative media) that discusses this case without crediting Mike Cernovich with being the first to sue to get the records of Epstein’s past slap-on-the-wrist conviction records unsealed is reporting fake news.

MSM finds Cernovich threatening.  That’s why they ignore him when they are not labeling him in a disparaging manor.  If you want to see why they are threatened by him see his documentary on fake news, Hoaxed.
